提及济南，你是否会第一时间联想到一座“浮”在泉水上的古城？然而，济南的魅力远不止于此。最近，除了泉水和“带编制”的锦鲤，趵突泉公园西南部的上新街在国外火了！这里有许多著名的古建筑和名人故居，包容万象，充分展示了泉城济南的老城风韵与文化背景。

What would you think when it comes to Jinan? An ancient city "floating" on the spring water? However, the charm of Jinan goes far beyond that. Recently, besides of the spring water and the staffing koi fish, Shangxin Street in the southwest part of Baotu Spring Park also went viral on the internet.It contains many famous ancient buildings and former residences of celebrities, showcasing the charm and cultural background of Jinan.

青石瓦，马头墙，连廊一道通悠长，古朴建筑交相辉映，让这条街巷更加具有历史风韵。上新街地块内“隐藏”着万字会旧址、景园等7处文物保护单位、10处历史建筑，山东剧院、山东歌舞剧院两处重要文化建筑，老舍故居、方荣翔故居等12处名人故居，另有3条传统街巷。

Bluestone tiles, wharf walls, corridors and ancient buildings form a stunning view, bringing the street more ancient charms. In the Shangxin Street, there are 7 protected historic sites including the Wanzi Society and Jingyuan building, 10 architectures that have stories to tell. Also, there are key cultural buildings like Shandong Performing House and Shandong Opera&Dance Drama Theater, 12 former residences of celebrities such as Lao She and Fang Rongxiang, and 3 traditional streets and alleys.

历经沧桑，风雨侵蚀，上新街上的一些历史建筑再也难觅当初的“容颜”，有些还因年久失修产生安全隐患。对此，市中区在老建筑保护性开发的基础上，突出原有特色、重新加固，突出了观赏性和艺术性，传承上新街文化特点，重现百年荣光。

With fortunes changing and weathering, some of the historic buildings on Shangxin Street have lost their looks and even bring safety hazards due to disrepair. In this regard, on the basis of the protection and development of the old buildings, Shizhong district highlighted the original characteristics of the street and launched re-reinforcement to emphasize the ornamental and art value and to inherit the cultural characteristics,reproducing the centennial glory.

例如，108号和112号建筑被改造为举办艺术展览、品牌发布会和论坛的文化场所；最南端的124号老四合院，被改造成为集展示、体验、传播于一体的“城市会客厅”，用于展览、体验和宣传这条古街的过去与现在。

For example, buildings No.108 and No.112 have been renovated into cultural venues for holding art exhibitions, brand releasing, and forums.The old siheyuan, or quadrangle dwellings at No.124 have been renovated into a "city reception hall" for exhibiting, experiencing and promoting the street's past and present.
